Deb is a qualified and licensed Registered Nurse and midwife with AHPRA and has over 30 years’ experience in caring for babies and children up to primary school age. She began her career studying in Melbourne graduating with a Diploma in Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing (Midwifery), Graduate Diploma in Nursing (Midwifery), Graduate Diploma (Child Health), Certificates in Sexual Health, Child Birth Education, Infant Massage and certification as a Lactation Consultant.

Being in a military family Deb has worked in private and public health in Victoria, New South Wales, the ACT and Queensland. In 1999 her family relocated the final time to Brisbane and she has spent many years working on the maternity unit of Logan Hospital, before transitioning over to specialise in Lactation, Child Health for the south east region.

As a Lactation Consultant and Child Health Nurse Deb has gained extensive knowledge in assisting families with strategies and support for concerns with sleep and settling, feeding problems – bottle feeding, breast feeding, low/high weight gain, fussy eaters and infant massage. Deb has also developed extensive knowledge in assisting families using Circle Of Security Program to finding ways that they achieve routines for a happier, more balanced family lifestyle. Deb’s personal experiences with her own children and extended family, combined with her expertise in sleep and settling techniques, lactation consultancy, parenting techniques and infant massage as well as over 30 years of professional practice gives her a unique understanding into difficulties faced by parents.

Deb is able to:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to parents to assist in establishing achievable and calm sleep routines
  • Assist with lactation techniques and support, to help clients feel more self-assured around feeding
  • Assist in ascertaining whether there are contributing factors disrupting sleep or feeding patterns for example reflux, tongue ties or food intolerances.

Deb has the experience to be able to cater solutions to family situation regardless of contributing factors (age of child, more than one child). Her goal is to bring families solutions that will work for them long-term and enable families to become closer and happier as a result.

Obtaining an appointment

Deb holds FREE walk-in clinics on Saturday between the hours of 10am to 1pm.  During these clinics, topical sessions are run between 11:30am to 12:30pm.

For one-on-one care, private appointments can be arranged by contacting 5546 9766. In person sessions are preferred however Skype sessions can be arranged.
