Dr Ingrid Weate graduated from University of Queensland Medical School with Class 2 Honours in 2002. Before that she trained and worked as a physiotherapist in Queensland and in the UK. Dr Weate’s years as a junior doctor were spent at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane and included 6 months training to gain a Diploma with the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr Weate has since attained fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and participates regularly in continuing education activities.
Dr Weate’s interests include Preventative care, Women’s and Children’s health, Contraception including IUD and contraceptive implant insertions and removals, Chronic Disease Management including Diabetes Management, Mental Health, Travel Medicine, and much more. She provides skin checks and performs skin cancer surgery when appropriate.
Dr Weate is committed to developing improved access to medical care and a broader range of services as Jimboomba Medical Centre’s role in the community evolves.
Dr Weate is actively involved in the educational of future medical practitioners and doctors in training to become general practitioners.
