Dr Ingrid Weate graduated from University of Queensland Medical School with Class 2 Honours in 2002. Before that she trained and worked as a physiotherapist in Queensland and then in the UK. Dr Weate’s years as a junior doctor were spent at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane and included 6 months training to gain a Diploma with the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Dr Weate’s have since attained fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and participates regularly in continuing education activities.

Dr Weate’s interests include Preventive care, Women’s and Children’s health, Contraception including IUD and contraceptive implant insertions and removals, Chronic Disease Management including Diabetes Management, Mental Health, Travel Medicine, and much more. She provides skin checks, perform skin cancer surgery when required and is currently enrolled in masters subjects in GP dermatology and chronic disease management.

Dr Weate is committed to developing improved access to medical care and a broader range of services as Jimboomba Medical Centre’s role in the community evolves. She is actively involved in medical education, providing placements for medical students from Bond and Griffith Universities and supervision of GP registrars as they work in our practice.
