Dr Thomas completed his medical degree from Kerala University in India in 2002. He did his postgraduate hospital and General practice training as well as his membership exams of the Royal College of GPs (MRCGP) in the UK to become a vocationally trained GP in 2008.He has had extensive experience in general medicine, care of elderly, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, sexual health, psychiatry, palliative care and substance misuse.

Dr Thomas worked as a GP in the UK until April 2014 before moving with his family to Australia in May 2014 and also gained a fellowship of the Australian Royal College of GPs (FRACGP).

He moved to Australia as he enjoys the weather, lifestyle and community spirit here. He specifically chose Jimboomba as he felt drawn to the area. He has been at Jimboomba Medical Centre since May 2014 and lives locally with his wife and two children.

He enjoys working with patients of all ages and backgrounds and has a keen interest in Chronic Disease management as well as a special interest in Diabetes Care, Skin Cancer, contraceptive implant insertions and removals, Mental Health, Travel Medicine and Palliative/Pain management.

In his words “I just love being a doctor and feel privileged to be a GP.  Listening to patients and providing holistic care is a passion for me.  I will be available 5 days a week for consultation and hope to be part of the community and help bring back some of the traditional values of living as a general practitioner”.

Dr Thomas is a Royal Australian College of General Practitioners examiner and an accredited medical educator for General Practice Training Queensland.
